GW Parkway Traffic Stop In Arlington Leads To Drug Charges (patch.com) — A traffic stop on the George Washington Memorial Parkway in Arlington led U.S. Park Police to arrest a driver who allegedly had methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with other drug paraphernalia, in his pocket and vehicle. The man, whose license was suspended and car unregistered, has been charged in federal court in Alexandria and released on a personal recognizance bond pending a June 30 status conference.
2. IT Services Firm To Move HQ To Arlington, Add 450 Jobs (patch.com) — Arlington is set to gain 450 new tech jobs as Spatial Front Inc. relocates its corporate headquarters from Bethesda to a new Crystal City office. State and local leaders say the $6 million investment strengthens Arlington’s National Innovation Quarter and underscores Virginia’s growing role in defense and technology innovation, backed by state grants and workforce training support.
3. New VFW commander aims to build on Arlington post's recent successes (arlnow.com) — Arlington’s John Lyon VFW Post 3150 has a new commander, Fritz Gottschalk, who plans to deepen the post’s community presence and support for local student veterans. The story also revisits the legacy of John Lyon and the Cherrydale and Clarendon memorial traditions that continue to honor Arlington’s World War I dead.
4. Arlington mourns veteran officer who developed 9/11-related cancer after Pentagon response (wusa9.com) — Arlington is honoring Corporal Barry Foust, a veteran county police officer who responded to the Pentagon on 9/11 and later died from a related cancer. Arlington’s prosecutor is challenging the decision, the Attorney General will argue it, and the defendant remains jailed in Arlington while facing separate charges in both Arlington and Fairfax.
