Person Struck By Metro Train At Northern Virginia Station

According to Metrorail, a "trespasser" was struck by a train at Pentagon station, causing disruptions.

PENTAGON CITY, VA – Metrorail announced that customers would be experiencing delays on the Blue and Yellow Lines after a person was struck at Pentagon station on Wednesday morning.

Metro announced the incident at 10:40 a.m. As of that time, Blue/Yellow Line trains are single-tracking between L'Enfant Plaza and Pentagon City and Yellow Line trains will only operate between Huntington and Mt Vernon Square.

Metro is referring to the person who was struck as a "trespasser."

The Pentagon Force Protection Agency reported shortly before noon that the lower platform at the Pentagon station was closed, but the upper platform remains in operation.
