ARLINGTON, VA — Two Arlington restaurants are offering places for fans to watch FIFA World Cup games during the tournament.
Taquería Xochi, at 1450 South Eads St., Suite 32, in Arlington, is part of the restaurant’s “Fútbol, Tacos y Chelas” watch party series. The series kicked off June 11 with Mexico vs. South Africa and will continue throughout the tournament.
At the Arlington location, games will be shown with the sound off, according to a release. On select match days, Taquería Xochi will offer all-day “Xochi Hour” specials on tacos, margaritas, micheladas, chelas and beer buckets.
The restaurant also is offering new chile limón and tamarindo cascabel wings throughout the series.
Confirmed partners for the watch party series include Heineken, Mezcal Amarás, Coca-Cola and Topo Chico, with activations planned for major matches, according to the release. Highlights include Heineken giveaways and bucket specials, a Topo Chico activation and a World Cup cocktail menu featuring Mezcal Amarás.
Immigrant Food also is streaming World Cup games at its Ballston location, 4245 Fairfax Drive in Arlington.
The restaurant is offering a “World Cup Combo” during the tournament, featuring a choice of beer and Greek Wings for $13. The wings are made with lemon, Mediterranean herbs and feta dip, according to a release.
