ARLINGTON, VA — A man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after he was slashed during an assault at a business on Columbia Pike late Tuesday night, according to Arlington County police.
Officers responded just before 11:30 p.m. to the 5000 block of Columbia Pike to investigate the report of an assault.
Police said a man entered the business while holding what appeared to be a knife and yelling. An employee confronted the suspect, who then allegedly struck the victim with the weapon, causing lacerations.
The suspect fled on foot before officers arrived.
The victim was treated at the scene by medics before being taken to an area hospital for additional treatment. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Officers searched the surrounding area after broadcasting a lookout for the suspect but did not locate him.
Police described the suspect as a Black man between 30 and 50 years old, standing about 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing between 195 and 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing all black.
The investigation remains ongoing.
