ARLINGTON, VA — Free live music will return to National Landing this week as the Fridays at the Fountain concert series kicks off at Water Park in Crystal City.
The free outdoor series begins Friday, July 17, and continues every Friday through Aug. 21, bringing six weeks of performances spanning indie rock, soul, jazz fusion, Latin jazz and cumbia. Concerts are presented by the National Landing Business Improvement District and curated by Pipkin Creative.
Music runs from 6 to 8 p.m., with the venue opening at 5:30 p.m., at Water Park, 1601 Crystal Drive. The park is a short walk from the Crystal City Metro station.
The series opens July 17 with D.C.-area alt-pop and indie rock band The Montaines. Other scheduled performers include:
Concertgoers can purchase food and drinks from Water Park's collection of restaurants and food kiosks while enjoying the performances from tables or the lawn.
Recent additions to the food lineup include Duke's Grocery and Paradiso Pizzeria Pronto, joining Bird's Eye Thai, Monstera, Pho Wheels, Spot of Tea, Queen Mother's Kitchen and other vendors. Water Bar, overlooking the park, also serves food and beverages during the events.
Reservations are encouraged through Eventbrite, although admission is free. Additional event information is available through National Landing's online events calendar.
