ARLINGTON, VA — Summer break is winding down, and Arlington Public Schools families can begin planning for the 2026-27 school year.
Students in kindergarten through 12th grade will begin classes Monday, Aug. 31, 2026. Prekindergarten and Virginia Preschool Initiative students will start Tuesday, Sept. 1. The last day of school is scheduled for Thursday, June 17, 2027, with an early dismissal.

- Aug. 19-21: BASE Camp for new T-Scale staff
- Aug. 24-28: Pre-service required for all staff
- Aug. 31: First day of school for K-12 students
- Sept. 1: First day of school for PreK and Virginia Preschool Initiative students
- Sept. 4 and Sept. 7: Labor Day holiday
- Sept. 16: H-B Woodlawn Back-to-School Night
