ARLINGTON, VA — A popular bagel chain known for serving hot bagels with creative cream cheese spreads is opening its first Virginia location in Arlington next week.
PopUp Bagels plans to open Friday, Oct. 23, at 4300 Wilson Blvd. in Ballston, marking the brand's first expansion into Virginia.
The company will celebrate with a grand opening event from 7 to 11 a.m., featuring hot bagels, special surprises and a limited-time cream cheese spread created exclusively for the Arlington location.
The cafe salted caramel cider doughnut schmear is a collaboration with Good Company Doughnuts, a Northern Virginia bakery known for its handmade doughnuts.
The special flavor will be available for a limited time, although the company has not said how long it will remain on the menu.
PopUp Bagels has built a following for its simple approach to the breakfast staple, emphasizing fresh, hot bagels served with a selection of flavored cream cheese spreads, or schmears.
The brand uses the slogan "Not Famous, but Known" and has expanded throughout the Washington, D.C., region.
The Arlington opening continues that growth, bringing the chain's bagels to Virginia customers for the first time.
The company said the Oct. 23 opening date remains subject to change depending on construction and permitting.
The company has not yet released details on the new location's regular operating hours.
