ARLINGTON, VA — Police are investigating whether two recent shootings in Arlington's Green Valley neighborhood are related.
On Oct. 21, at approximately 11:49 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 2400 block of South Lowell Street. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound who had sought help at a nearby home.
Police said the man was outside when he was shot in the area of South Lowell Street and South Lincoln Street. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The man is currently in stable condition, police said.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m. the following night, officers returned to the same block following reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found damage to seven parked cars and two homes. No injuries were reported.
Despite the use of a K-9 officer and a drone, police have not identified a suspect in either incident but are investigating whether the shootings are connected.
Residents are asked to check their home surveillance systems for footage that could aid the investigation and submit it through the police department's evidence upload portal. Anyone with information can also contact police at 703-228-4180 or through email.
