Aerospace Company Auria To Establish East Coast Headquarters In Reston

Auria focuses on space domain awareness and supports the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory and U.S. Space Force training.

FAIRFAX, VA — Defense and aerospace company Auria will invest $1.8 million to establish its East Coast headquarters in Reston, creating an expected 78 jobs in Fairfax County, Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger announced.

"We are proud to welcome Auria's East Coast headquarters to Fairfax," Spanberger said. "Auria's decision to expand its presence in the Commonwealth reflects confidence in our business environment, strategic location, and our continued support of innovative aerospace and defense companies."

"My Administration looks forward to a longstanding partnership with Auria as the company expands, creates dozens of new jobs for Virginians, and advances technologies that support our national security," the governor added.

The headquarters will give Auria better access to government and commercial clients across the D.C. region. The company also has an office in Warrenton.

What Is Auria?

Auria focuses on space operations, satellite communications, space domain awareness, missile defense and cybersecurity for government, commercial and international customers.

Earlier this month, the firm was awarded a four-year contract with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory to develop autonomous systems to identify and track objects in Earth's orbit.

In September, Auria was awarded a contract to train members of the U.S. Space Force.

"Northern Virginia is rapidly becoming Auria's largest employment footprint, making Reston the natural choice to complement our existing Warrenton operations and serve as our East Coast headquarters," said Auria CEO Damian DiPippa.

"We are thrilled to be opening a new facility that strengthens our ability to collaborate with nearby customers and partners while providing a world-class mission integration center for our team to develop, test, demonstrate, and integrate the advanced command, control, and mission integration capabilities on which our national security customers depend."

Based in Colorado, Auria was formed in 2024 through the merger of four aerospace and national security companies: Boecore, Ascension Engineering Group, Orbit Logic and La Jolla Logic.

It has since acquired several other aerospace companies, including RKF Engineering Solutions and Kythera Space Solutions earlier this year. Auria is backed by Enlightenment Capital, based in Washington, D.C.
