WASHINGTON, DC — Drivers in Washington, D.C. and Arlington face temporary road closures Monday, Nov. 2, around President Donald Trump's planned speech at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, including a restriction on traffic entering the District from Memorial Bridge.

The U.S. Secret Service announced closures beginning at 6 a.m., with additional restrictions starting at 1 p.m. All roads are expected to reopen by 4 p.m., though the timing could change for law enforcement operations.

Trump is scheduled to speak Monday afternoon at the Reflecting Pool as he makes his closing pitch before Tuesday's midterm elections, The Associated Press reported. The White House announced the speech Sunday evening.

For Arlington drivers, the advisory includes a 1 p.m. closure at the west end of Memorial Bridge, blocking traffic into DC.

The Secret Service listed the following restrictions:

Drivers Should Allow Extra Travel Time

Additional roads in the area may close as needed, according to the Secret Service. Some restrictions could begin earlier or remain in place beyond the anticipated reopening time.

Motorists should plan ahead, allow additional travel time and consider alternate routes.

The speech will also draw attention to the Reflecting Pool renovation. AP reported that repairs finished nearly three months behind schedule and cost more than 10 times Trump's initial $1.5 million estimate. The pool required further repairs after algae blooms developed and sections of its blue liner began peeling.

The Associated Press contributed to the reporting of this story.
