100 Best Public Elementary Schools In Virginia For 2020

ASHBURN, VA — Niche.com has just released what it says are the top 100 public elementary schools in Virginia for the 2019-20 school year. And it's fair to assume after reviewing the list that they are big fans of the elementary schools in northern Virginia.

Elementaries in Loudoun County Public Schools take two of the top three spots, while schools in Arlington Public Schools and Fairfax County Public Schools also made the top 10. Coming in at No. 1 on the list is Rock Ridge High School in Ashburn, which houses grades pre-kindergarten through 12, according to Niche.com.

Last year, Arlington Science Focus Elementary School in the Arlington Public Schools system was No. 1 on the list.

How did Niche.com arrive at its rankings? The authors say, "The 2020 Best Public Elementary Schools ranking is based on rigorous analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school ratings, and the overall quality of the school district.
