5 Armed Robbers Attack Woman At Hotel, Steal Jewelry: Sheriff

At least 5 suspects stole luggage containing a "significant amount of jewelry imported from India" from a woman at an Ashburn hotel.

ASHBURN, VA — A group of armed robbers attacked a woman at an Ashburn hotel and stole an undisclosed amount of jewelry from her, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said.

A report from the sheriff said about 6 a.m. Monday the robbery was reported at the Embassy Suites, 44600 block Waxpool Road in Ashburn. The victim told authorities multiple suspects approached her and forcibly took luggage containing a "significant amount of jewelry imported from India."

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the robbery and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

At least five suspects were involved; four of the suspects wore face coverings and hooded sweatshirts, the press release said. The suspects fled in a black Chevrolet Equinox, which was later found abandoned.

Investigators ask anyone who was in the area and saw something to contact Detective M. Grimsley with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office at 703-777-1021.
