Aldie Man In Jail After Inappropriate Encounter

A 67-year-old Aldie man is behind bars in the Leesburg jail after his arrest for accosting a local woman on Monday night.

Kaur Singh was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexual battery, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. The charge stems from an incident that occurred at 9:45 p.m. Monday in the 24600 block of Rosebay Terrace in Aldie.

A woman reported to police that she was sitting outside of her home when an older man wearing an orange turban approached her. He was described as Middle Eastern and 6 feet 4 inches tall.

He began conversing with her and asking personal questions, according to a police report. The suspect then grabbed the woman and tried to kiss her, and she stood up and tried to enter her home.

He stopped and continued to talk to her before grabbing her again, kissing her and touching her inappropriately, according to police. The victim was able to escape his grasp and get into her home.

After his arrest Tuesday, Singh was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. The victim declined medical treatment, the police said.
