VIRGINIA — If you want to pick up a grill on the fly for your Independence Day cookout, some hardware and home improvement stores in Virginia will be open on the 4th of July.

Or maybe you need tools and supplies to make a quick home repair before guests arrive or plan to spend the day on a do-it-yourself or gardening project. Big-box home improvement stores such as Home Depot and Lowe’s are open.

Here’s what we know about hardware and home improvement store hours on Thursday, July 4 — but be sure to call ahead to make sure locations in Maryland haven’t made exceptions:

Ace Hardware: Stores will be open for regular hours.

Home Depot: Stores open from 6 a.m.-10 p.m.

Lowe’s Home Improvement: Sores open from 6 a.m.-10 p.m.

True Value Hardware: Stores open from 8 a.m.-9 p.m.

For other shopping needs, several other retail stores will be open for the 4th of July. Some of them include:

Academy Sports + Outdoors: Stores will observe regular hours.

Bass Pro Shops: Stores will observe regular hours.

Best Buy: Stores will observe regular hours.
