ASHBURN, VA – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of inappropriate filming involving juveniles at a county high school.

In a statement to Patch on Tuesday, Loudoun County Public Schools said the school system "is actively working with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office regarding an ongoing investigation involving allegations that a student secretly recorded other individuals inside Freedom High School without their knowledge or permission. These are significant allegations that we take extremely seriously."

The statement also stressed that there are no reports that any students involved were in a bathroom "inconsistent with their biological sex."

Loudoun County has weathered several high-profile cases involving inclusive locker room or bathroom use.

ABC 7 reported Thursday that the principal of Freedom High School in Chantilly had emailed parents at the end of April, telling them a student had recorded another student in a school bathroom.

Parents of students at the school received another email last week stating that the behavior was not an isolated incident and asking anyone with more information to contact the county sheriff’s office, according to those reports.

The Loudoun County sheriff confirmed the investigation.
