Loudoun County Approves 2 New Substations: Report

The board of supervisors approved the two new substations after a period of revision.

ASHBURN, VA – Loudoun County’s Board of Supervisors has approved two new substations in the county, according to a new report.

Loudoun Now reports that the board approved the Aspen substation, presented as crucial to the stability of the regional power grid, and the Barrister substation, which will support a Sterling data center.

During the Tuesday vote, supervisors said their initial concerns about the proposed stations resulted in positive changes that can be applied to future substation plans. There are 95 existing or proposed substations in the county, the outlet reports.
