ASHBURN, VA – Court filings reveal new details about what investigators say happened inside the Ashburn home of Mia and Eric Bieniemy during a shooting in July, according to a new report.
Loudoun Now reports that Mia Bieniemy, who was shot in the Northpark Drive home on July 26, called 911 herself, according to court documents. Detectives say in court documents that Mia identified the shooter as her son, Elijah, and that deputies took a firearm from him when they arrived, according to the outlet. They say Elijah Bieniemy is the only person of interest in the incident.
Mia Bieniemy, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, was reportedly shot in the arm. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid stated that she was out of the intensive care unit and making progress a few days after the shooting.
Twenty-seven-year-old Elijah Bieniemy, one of the couple's sons, was arrested after the shooting. He has been ordered to undergo a mental competency exam. His next hearing will be on September 9.
