LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – A former school resource officer has been decertified as a police officer after being accused of workplace harassment, according to a new report.
Loudoun Now reports that the state decertified Deputy First Class Sodiq Apena at the recommendation of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Apena had been assigned to Willard Middle School, but was placed on administrative leave in March after a school security officer was granted a protection order against him over alleged sexual harassment.
According to the outlet, the LSCO says Apena violated no laws, but was found to have committed serious misconduct. He left the force and was decertified in June.
