LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is asking residents near the Purcellville area where a missing 80-year-old woman was last seen to check their properties and security camera footage.

Carolyn R. Taylor is known to nap outdoors, particularly in grassy or wooded areas, the sheriff's office said Monday morning. Residents near Foundry Road in Purcellville are being asked to walk through their own backyards, sheds and gardens and check brushy or wooded areas along their properties.

Authorities also asked residents to review security and doorbell camera footage recorded from 10 a.m. Sunday through the present for any sign of Taylor.

The sheriff's office is not seeking volunteer searchers and asked people not to travel to the area to look for Taylor. Trained personnel are conducting the search, and additional people in the area could interfere with those efforts, according to the agency.

Virginia State Police issued a Senior Alert for Taylor on behalf of the sheriff's office at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. She was last seen around 10:30 a.m. that same day on Foundry Road and is believed to be traveling on foot.

Taylor has a cognitive impairment, and her disappearance poses a credible threat to her health and safety, authorities said.

She is described as 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing 104 pounds, with white hair and blue eyes. She may be wearing a blue sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone who sees Taylor should call 911. People with other information about her whereabouts may call the sheriff's office's 24-hour dispatch line at 703-777-0407.
