• Loudoun County School District Bans E-Bike Use On School Property (patch.com) — Families in Ashburn should know that Loudoun County Public Schools now ban riding e-bikes and other motorized personal transport devices on school property, requiring students to walk them once on campus. The policy, driven by rising safety concerns and backed by a sheriff's office education campaign, still allows students to ride to and from school but only off school grounds.
   

• Work underway at new Athenian Mediterranean in Ashburn (theburn.com) — A new Athenian Mediterranean restaurant is under construction now in Ashburn's Goose Creek Village, taking over the former Massaya space near Rita's Italian Ice. The owners promise a "special" Mediterranean experience with fresh ingredients and classic recipes, and they're aiming to open later this year, giving local diners another option close to Belmont Ridge and Sycolin roads.
   

• Jayden Daniels brings 'more armor' into Commanders' opener vs. Eagles (wusa9.com) — Ashburn fans will see hometown-practicing quarterback Jayden Daniels lead the Washington Commanders into their Sept. 13 season opener against the Eagles after an injury-shortened 2025. Coach Dan Quinn says Daniels spent the offseason adding "more armor" and leadership, as Washington focuses on cutting penalties and turnovers to spark a stronger 2026 campaign.
