ASHBURN, VA – The Loudoun County School Board remains divided as to how to arrange the county's 2028-2029 school calendar, according to a new report.
Loudoun Now reports that the county is considering making significant changes to its school calendar after some board members said an overabundance of cultural and religious holidays has unreasonably extended the school year.
Now, the county is considering eight possible school calendars, including a year-round option. The outlet reports that two options with 12 holidays each, starting on Aug. 17 and ending on June 15, have the most support among staff and families.
The board is expected to make a decision at its next meeting.
