STERLING, VA – A 30-year-old Sterling woman has been charged with murder over the death of her eight-month-old child, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies were called to assist Loudoun County Fire and Rescue on a call about an unresponsive infant on Sept. 10. Investigators say the child had been left in a bathtub with running water without adult supervision.
The child's mother, Rosellena Pisani, 30, of Sterling, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with murder, as well as two counts of child abuse and three counts of child endangerment.
Investigators say three children ranging in age from eight months to eight years were in the home at the time of the incident. LCSO tells Patch some of the charges relate to the care of the older children in the home.
Public court documents say Pisani is being held in custody. Her arraignment was set for Wednesday morning. Preliminary hearings in the case are currently set for Dec. 14.
