Ancient Turkey-Inspired Restaurant Efesus Cafe Opens In Ashburn

A new spot for Mediterranean food in Ashburn draws inspiration from the ancient Turkish city of Efesus.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The ancient Turkish city of Efesus lives on through the cuisine of a new restaurant that opened Tuesday in Ashburn.

Mediterranean restaurant Efesus Cafe is located at the Cornerstone Center, 20937 Ashburn Road #125, Ashburn, VA. According to the restaurant's website, Efesus Cafe provides a variety of flavors around the Mediterranean Sea, from Turkish to Greek cuisine.

"Efesus Cafe brings a slice of the rich Mediterranean culinary landscape to your doorstep," the website states. "Inspired by the ancient city of Efesus in Türkiye, our cafe embodies a blend of history, culture, and gastronomic delight."

Highlights on the menu include various kebabs, starters like Turkish-style Saksuka and Albanian liver, entrées like Bronzino, Hunkar Bedendili lamb, kofte, Lahmacun (Turkish pizza), Manti (dumplings), the Mediterranean fusion burger and more. For dessert, try Katmer (a pistachio pastry), baklava, ice cream, sorbet and other options.

The restaurant will offer a special menu for Valentine's Day on Wednesday, Feb. 14. A grand opening celebration will be held Saturday, Feb. 17. Reservations are available.
