Ashburn Restaurant Inspections: Dulles Airport Restaurants

The Loudoun County Health Department found several violations during recent restaurant inspections in Sterling, Dulles, and Ashburn.

ASHBURN, VA — Officials from the Loudoun County Health Department inspected multiple restaurants across the Ashburn area from June 30 to July 6, including locations in Dulles and Sterling.

As coronavirus restrictions continue to loosen around the state, health inspectors are returning to conduct restaurant inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.

Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department also performs a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

    • Violations:
      • When asked, the person in charge was not able to provide verifiable documentation that all on-duty staff have been trained on employee health policy.
      • Employee beverages improperly stored, assorted coffee cups and water bottles were observed in various locations in the kitchen.
      • At the start of the inspection a pot and oven mitt were stored on the hand sink, preventing it from being accessible for use.
      • Raw animal food stored above ready to eat food in the walk in cooler.
      • The dishwasher was observed washing and rinsing hotel pans, then putting them away.
