Ashburn Woman Dies In Wrong-Way Crash In Clarke County: Police
Three people, including an Ashburn woman, died on Tuesday in a wrong-way crash on Route 7 in Clarke County, authorities said.
CLARKE COUNTY, VA — Three people, including an Ashburn woman, died on Tuesday in a wrong-way crash on Route 7 in Clarke County, Virginia State Police officials said.
The wrong-way driver, 66-year-old Tuan Dang of Berryville, died at the scene. A passenger in Dang's car, 39-year-old Elaine Bird of Ashburn, died at a nearby hospital after the crash. Another driver, 23-year-old Miriam D. Trejo Santander of Winchester, died at the scene.
Two other people, a passenger in Santander's car and another driver, suffered minor injuries.

The crash occurred around 9:41 p.m. on Tuesday on Route 7 near Route 645 in Clarke County, Virginia State Police investigators said. Authorities reported that Dang's 2005 Ford Mustang entered Route 7 driving the wrong way.
The Mustang then collided with Santander's 2008 Saturn VUE and a 2008 Audi A4.

No criminal charges have been filed in connection with the crash. Police officials are still investigating the crash. Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt, according to a police report.
