After 4 years of serving up fresh flatbread favorites, American Flatbread, located in Southern Walk Plaza, is closing its doors. Owners, Scott and Janice Vasko, released a statement expressing their sadness and thanking their regulars.

"It is with great sadness that we end our 4 years here in Ashburn on Sunday, June 5. Our entire family here would like to say thank you for your loyal support of American Flatbread," the Vaskos said in the statement. "This is a struggle for us to find the words. We have developed so many great friendships along the way and appreciate your support of our mission to bring good flavorful food to so many."

The restaurant, which was Zagat Rated, received numerous awards and accolades, and specialized in using locally grown produce. The owners prided themselves in supporting neighborhood farms, food growers and wineries.
