Ashby Ponds Resident Receives Recognition at Woodlawn’s 51st Annual Needlework Exhibition
(Ashburn, Va.) - Ashby Ponds resident, Maxine Chiavetta, received the Adelaide Bolte Award for “Outstanding Senior Entry” at the 51st Annual Needlework Exhibition at Woodlawn. Adelaide Bolte was one of the founding members of Nelly's Needlers, which assists with the annual exhibition and raises funds for Woodlawn.
Though a longtime needleworker, Chiavetta noted that she had never entered her work in a show before the Woodlawn exhibition. She has, however, displayed her needlework at Ashby Ponds for her friends and neighbors to see.
Chiavetta also received a 2nd place award in the “CW multi” category and fellow Ashby Ponds resident, Dody Martin, received a 3rd place award in the “blackwork” category.
