Ashby Ponds Salutes Veterans' Day with Program Featuring Local Students and ROTC Cadets

The community is now home to nearly 250 veterans.

(Ashburn, Virginia) - On November 11th, a crowd of over 250 packed the performing arts theater at Ashby Ponds retirement community in Ashburn to salute America’s veterans. The Veterans’ Day event featured a variety of area guests including the U.S. Air Force Jr. ROTC Color Guard Cadets of the Chantilly Academy who coordinated a Presentation of the Colors and Belmont Station Elementary School’s fifth graders who performed a tribute to the U.S. Armed Forces. The guest speaker for the Ashby Ponds Program was Major General John Handy, U.S. Air National Guard (Ret.) and the former VP of LMI Government Consulting. There are nearly 250 veterans now living at Ashby Ponds.
