Assaults Lead To Arrests At Sterling Dance Club: Police
Two separate assaults were reported over the weekend at the Rio Cantina Dance Club in Sterling, according to the Loudoun Sheriff's Office.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Three people were arrested in two incidents at the Rio Cantina Dance Club in Sterling over the weekend, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. One fight was reported to police on Friday, July 30 and another was reported on Sunday, Aug. 1.
Around 2:25 a.m. on Friday, a deputy on patrol was waived down outside of the club, according to a police report. The deputy was informed of a fight in progress inside the club.
When the deputy entered the club, they found four men involved in a fight, the sheriff's office said. Two men, who were taken into custody, were identified as aggressors in the fight. One of the men broke a glass bottle to use as a weapon, police said.

Both of the men were charged with assault and taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. One man was released on personal recognizance while the other was released on a $1,000 bond.

The second assault was reported to authorities around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1. Multiple deputies responded to the club, where witnesses reported an assault.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they saw one man tackle another man, according to the police report. "As deputies were taking the male into custody, he actively resisted their efforts and attempted to pull away from them," the sheriff's office wrote in their report.

The tackler, who was identified as a 21-year-old man from Leesburg, was later taken into custody and taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing justice, and two counts of assault. He was later released on his own recognizance.
