AUDITIONS: 2015 "Nutcracker in a Shell - All Jazzed Up"

The 17th Annual “Nutcracker in a Shell – All Jazzed Up!” Staff proudly announces our 2015 Cast Auditions! This jazzy, shortened version of the “Nutcracker” performed by children for children from our Creative Dance Center studios in Chantilly, Ashburn and South Riding introduces younger audiences to the tradition of Nutcracker. Our Nutcracker has become a Loudoun County winter holiday must-see community event selling out 4 shows in 2014!

We are looking for dancers from all areas of dance - ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop & gymnastics for this upbeat version of the classic Nutcracker. You may and are encouraged to audition for more than one part, and all dancers who audition will be included in the production.

Dancers should arrive at the audition in appropriate dance attire with hair in a bun and bring all styles of current dance shoes - jazz, ballet, tap, pointe, and hip hop. Auditions and rehearsals will be held at Creative Dance Center in Ashburn, 44710 Cape Court, #126.

Auditions will be segmented by age:

12 noon to 12:30pm for ages 4-6

12:30pm to 1:15pm for ages 7-10

1:15pm to 2:00pm for ages 11 and up

Rehearsals will be conducted from every Saturday afternoon from September through mid November. Youth cast members will also attend a 4 to 5 day choreographic camp August 31st through September 4th, 2015, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at CDC Ashburn. Also, all dancers cast in the show are required to enroll in a studio class for the 2015-2016 dance season at any of our CDC locations (this class may not be an Acro class due to class size limitations).
