Boy Charged Over Reports Of Secret Filming In High School Bathroom: Loudoun Sheriff

ASHBURN, VA – The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has charged a boy in connection with reports of filming in a bathroom at Freedom High School, the office announced Friday.

The sheriff's office says the investigation remains active and that they've identified at least one other area where unlawful filming is believed to have taken place.

According to the sheriff's office, detectives have already been in contact with people directly involved in the incident, but they encourage anyone who believes they might have been filmed to call the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office at (703) 777-1021.

No identifying information or details about the investigation will be revealed because the suspect is a minor, the sheriff's office said.

Reports came out earlier in May that a student might have been photographing or filming other students in the high school's bathrooms. Reportedly, parents received an email in April about such an incident, and another email in early May stating that the filming had not been a one-time affair.

The school system confirmed the investigation.

Reports also claimed that the student involved in filming was transgender, which the school system denied. Loudoun County Public Schools have endured several years of controversy over their gender inclusive policies. The school system is now under investigation by the U.S. Department of Education.
