Broad Run Boys Basketball Beats Briar Woods 78-69
Spartans host defending state champs Potomac Falls Monday
On Friday night in Brambleton, the Broad Run boys varsity basketball team overcame an early 16-point deficit and eventually pulled away from the host Briar Woods Falcons to capture the 78-69 Dulles District victory.
With the win, the Spartans improve to 5-0 on the season, and 2-0 in the district. Nigel Johnson continued his high-scoring ways for the Spartans, as he poured in 23 points. Johnson leads the district in scoring this season, averaging 26.2 points per game.
The loss is the first in the Dulles District for the Falcons (3-4, 3-1). Myles Tate shined for the Falcons despite the loss, scoring 28 points, including ten from the free-throw line.

The win sets up a huge matchup between Broad Run and Potomac Falls on Monday night. Broad Run will host the undefeated defending state champion Panthers at 7:30 p.m. All five Panthers starters returned from last year's squad, which captured Loudoun County's first state championship in basketball.
