The Spartans Varsity softball team overpowered Osbourn Park after five innings on Tuesday night

Broad Run Spartans Varsity Claims Blow-Out Victory Over Osbourn Park, 12-2

The Broad Run Spartans sailed to an early victory after five innings over Osbourn Park on Tuesday night.

Broad Run got on the board in the first inning when Lauren Mizelle singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Broad Run tallied four runs in the third inning. Erin Cassidy, Casey Kramer, and Abigail Neff all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Libby Griffis led Broad Run to victory on the pitcher's mound. She allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out five. Katrina Potak threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Allison Zentz took the loss for Osbourn Park. She lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing 16 hits and 12 runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Broad Run collected 16 hits on the day. Neff, Sara Kelly, Lauren Enstrom, Mizelle, and Griffis all managed multiple hits for Broad Run. Enstrom, Kelly, and Neff all had three hits to lead Broad Run. Broad Run didn't commit a single error in the field. Neff had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.

The Spartans are currently 4-1 this season.
