Capital Murder Indictment in 2009 Lansdowne Killing: Reports

Indictment of Anthony Roberts, 26, follows 40-year-convictions of two other suspects expected to testify in case, according to reports.

A grand jury has indicted Anthony Roberts, 26, on capital murder charges in a 2009 killing in Lansdowne, according to media reports.

William Bennett was found dead with a cracked skull, according to NBC Washington. Cynthia Bennett was found nearby with serious injuries, and her doctor called her survival a medical miracle, according to The Washington Post.

Charges against Roberts includes five counts of Capital Murder, two counts of robbery, one count of aggravated malicious wounding, object sexual penetration, abduction with intent to defile, and rape.

Darwin Bowman, 22, was sentenced in 2013 to 43 years in prison in the case. Jaime Ayala, 21, was sentenced to life plus 40 years in 2011, according to The Washington Post.
