Civilians can learn from the experience of military families, especially when moving
Being a member of the armed forces is difficult on every level. It's also tough for their families.

Everyone in Virginia benefits from the safety that our armed forces provide. Armed service members provide protection from threats abroad and aid during natural disasters. But, while citizens generally recognize and respect the sacrifices that service members make, less attention is devoted to the sacrifices that military families make every day. The uncertainty of deployment, injury, and loss aren’t quantifiable.
Military families do have one certainty: They will move around —a lot. Moving adds even more stress to a family’s life, and that sacrifice should be remembered.
Because military families move 2.5 times as often as civilian families, they have developed some of the best moving advice. My Guys Moving put together this infographic to share some of the tips that service members and their families have come up with during their many moves. The list isn’t exhaustive: it’s just a few of the very many ways in which civilians can learn from military families.
