Community Coming Together to Save Old Ashburn

Save Old Ashburn by opposing against massive development of 100+condos and townhomes! #saveoldashburn

The neighbors of Ashburn are coming together to raise our voices against plans to build 100+ condos and townhouses in a small area between Ashburn Road and Hay Road in the Old Ashburn Area. Anyone who is familiar with the area is aware that the narrow and busy intersection was not built to support large amounts of traffic. Adding 100+ homes will add an enormous amount of vehicle traffic while the current infrastructure will remain the same. The added vehicle volume will bring pedestrian safety issues and it will make it more difficult to emergency vehicles from the fire station 6 when responding to emergency calls. 100+ condos in the area will overcrowd our schools, and putting more of the wild animal population at risk.

This has become a political football between the county and the developers/lawyers. Developers have purchased RC zoned property around Loudoun County knowing that they will either make huge amount of money with mass building, or by suing Loudoun County. Either way, it will be the loss of the tax payers and Loudoun County residents.

How can we stop this nonsense? The neighbors of Old Ashburn are inviting those who oppose to this massive development that will destroy what is left of Old Ashburn area by reaching out to their Supervisor to raise their concern. Use #saveoldashburn when sharing the news online and sign the online petition at https://www.ipetitions.com/pet... . The neighbors of Ashburn are asking for Old historic buildings to be maintained, and strongly oppose to new development with occupancies higher than 4 homes per acre in the Old Ashburn area.
