COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Available For Children In Loudoun
The Loudoun County Health Department is urging parents to get their 5 to 11-year-old children vaccinated against COVID-19.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Public health officials in Loudoun County are urging parents of children between the ages of 5 and 11 to have their children vaccinated against COVID-19. Appointments for children are available now at Loudoun County's vaccination clinics.
So far, more than 8,900 children between the ages of 5 and 11 have received the COVID-19 vaccine since the vaccine was authorized for younger children earlier this month. Loudoun County Health Director Dr. David Goodfriend said vaccinating children between the ages of 5 and 11 is important, as they currently have the highest rate of infection due to COVID-19.
"As we approach the holiday season when families tend to travel and gather in groups, vaccination against COVID-19 for everyone five and older is critical," Dr. Goodfriend said. "Thousands of children have already received the vaccine safely, but tens of thousands of other children in Loudoun still need to get their shot and I encourage parents to make appointments as soon as possible."

COVID-19 vaccine appointments are available now at the county's Dulles Town Center clinic. Appointments for children are available on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The clinic will be closed on Friday, Nov. 26 and Saturday, Nov. 27 in observance of county holidays.
"The data shows that the vaccine is safe and effective in our children, and we know that protecting children from the virus and limiting their ability to spread the virus through vaccination is a key step in bringing the pandemic to an end," Dr. Goodfriend said.
