Decorated Egg Auction April 9 in Purcellville

PURCELLVILLE, VA — OK. There's the standard colored Easter egg, adorned with perhaps a sticker or two.

And then there's this version: elaborately decorated eggs by more than a dozen artists from around Loudoun County.

It's the Eggs and Spring Awakens auction 1-3 p.m. April 9 at the Franklin Park Arts Center, 36441 Blueridge View Lane.

Many of the eggs go on display in the gallery today (March 30).

The detailed eggs will be auctioned off to raise money for art programming at the center. Last year's event, according to organizers, raised more than $2,000.
