Deputy Accidentally Shoots Himself In Ashburn: Police
A Loudoun police deputy accidentally shot himself Wednesday in Ashburn, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

ASHBURN, VA—A Loudoun police deputy accidentally shot himself Wednesday in the 45000 block of Research Place, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The deputy, whose name has not yet been released, was treated at the scene and then taken to a local hospital with injuries that weren't life threatening.
Around 6:45 p.m., police were called to the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy. They found that the deputy apparently had been securing the weapon before entering the facility when it discharged one round.
