Digital Realty Purchases Ashburn Property For Expansion

Data center developer Digital Realty has purchased a 13-acre parcel in Ashburn for $28M, the highest price paid so far in the county.

ASHBURN, VA — Data center developer Digital Realty has taken another step toward growing the business by purchasing a 13-acre parcel in "Data Center Alley" on Filigree Court in Ashburn. The developer paid Airbus Americas $28 million for the land, reported the Washington Business Journal.

The purchase price averages out to be $2.14 million per acre, the highest price paid so far for data center development property in Loudoun County. This particular piece of land sits next to data center buildings owned by Equinix, which serves as the region's primary network intersection.

Northern Virginia is home to more than 100 data centers and more than 10 million square feet of data space.
