Driver Dies After Route 28 Crash, Teen Faces More Charges: Police
The truck driver involved in a fiery crash on Sept. 18 in Loudoun County has died. The other driver now faces more charges, police said.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A Centreville man has died after a fiery crash on Route 28 last month, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said.
The man, 33-year-old Cesar Yepez, passed away from injuries suffered in the Sept. 18 crash, according to authorities.
Investigators said 18-year-old Jose Padilla Espinoza was responsible for the crash. He is charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, aggressive driving, failure to observe lanes marked for traffic, and passing while overtaking a vehicle.

Espinoza was arrested on Monday. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
The crash occurred around 7 p.m. on Sept. 18 on southbound Route 28 near Sterling Boulevard. Investigators said Padilla Espinosa was driving a black Nissan Altima when he crashed into a semi-truck. The collision caused the truck to flip and catch fire.

Padilla Espinosa also crashed into a Toyota Prius, authorities said.
Witnesses pulled the semi-truck driver from the burning truck, according to the police report. First responders took him to an area hospital for treatment.
Investigators said Espinosa was travelling " significantly above the speed limit at the time of the crash."
"The LCSO reminds all motorists of the importance of obeying speed limits and driving in a safe and responsible manner," the sheriff's office said in a news release. "The consequences of reckless driving can be devastating and far-reaching."
