Dulles South Public Safety Day Takes Place Saturday

In South Riding event, residents can meet the county sheriff and check out law enforcement, fire and rescue displays.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and Loudoun County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management will hold the eighth annual Dulles South Public Safety Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dulles South Multipurpose Center, at 24950 Riding Center Drive in South Riding.

Residents are encouraged to attend and meet Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman and fire and rescue personnel and view various displays from law enforcement and fire-rescue.

Some of the highlighted activities and displays include:

  • Loudoun County fire apparatus, to include an engine, truck and medic unit on display and open for tours
  • Fire and life safety trailer demos, to include home escape planning and potential hazards in the home
  • “Put a finger On It” smoke alarm program informational center. Get current smoke alarm information and schedule a free home safety inspection to see if your home is protected
  • Moon bounce
  • Large incident command bus from the fire department, open for tours and demonstrations
  • Loudoun Hazardous Material Response Team
  • The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries informational booth and display
  • Various Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Operational Support Division interactive resources that highlight public safety

Light refreshments will be provided.
