Today was a great day. I am an author of 29 books and today I decided to visit Loudoun’s wine district to perhaps gather some inspiration on my new book. I was stuck and needed an escape from my vivid imagination. I traveled the rustic roads to a place where stories simply appear to those creative minds who are willing to explore to capture the essence of what they are trying to convey in their stories.
Loudoun County has so many authors searching for stories and a plethora of wineries to excite the senses but today, I found Eagletree. If it’s a muse you’re searching for, look no further than Eagletree Winery, Loudoun’s newest offering. It’s not the biggest winery nor is it the most known but it is a treasure to those who can look out a window and devise a story. I did this. It was a simple bumble bee searching for the best place to land. Looking out the window, I wondered why it took so long for the bee to figure out where to go. It just hovered amid wildflowers trying to find the best place to deliver its pollen laden feet. So many choices, much like the myriad of wineries in the area, It found Eagletree and so did I.
To the people who are not predisposed to conjure stories this would appear to be nothing, but to those with the ability to see great things in the most simplistic of offerings, it’s everything. Jeff and Lori, the owners, supply a measure of down-home hospitality seldom seen it this whack-a-mole world. They actually talk to you and do what they can to make you comfortable as you sip their delectable offerings

I traveled two miles of gravel roads to get there and stayed longer than I planned partly because the wine was extraordinary, I highly recommend the Viognier, and the people I met there. There were two couples. One couple was from Leesburg and the other from Atlanta Georgia. I brought two of my newest books for Lori and Jeff but had to give one away because they were so engaging and interested in the story that I didn’t want them to buy it from Amazon. Today I have a fresh outlook on what I need to write. Eagletree not only provided me with an amazingly vibrant white wine but gave me the drive to continue writing the story that's hammering my mind. Eagle Tree is a place of fables and where stories begin or end. Regardless of what is conjured, it is a place that you'll remember.
I highly recommend the trip through the gravel roads and the one-lane bridges to get to a magical place where you can sit among nature and create the world’s stories. The setting so enamored me that I set up a book signing date for late June. I don’t know how many will attend but I will be there amid the beauty of the Loudoun County green-scape and that’s okay. I'll sit and watch regardless of book sales. Sometimes it’s where you’re at that’s the real attraction.
