Fatal Car Crash Reported On Claiborne Parkway In Ashburn: Police
Authorities are investigating a fatal car crash that occurred on Thursday at the intersection of Windmill Drive and Claiborne Parkway.
ASHBURN, VA — A woman died after a car crash in Ashburn on Thursday morning. Police said Deborah Michel died of injuries she suffered in the crash at the intersection of Windmill Drive and Claiborne Parkway.
Police said the crash occurred around 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of the two roadways. Investigators believe that a 2006 Honda Civic was travelling on Windmill Drive when it collided with a vehicle that was going north on Claiborne Parkway.
Authorities said the driver of the Civic, who they identified as Michel, died at the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle, an adult man, was also taken to a hospital to receive treatment.

Police have not identified an exact cause for the crash. However, they said that there is no indication that alcohol, drugs, or use of a cellphone contributed to the crash.
