ALDIE, VA — An unruly man fired a gun at a private music festival and then pointed it at security officers and tried to fire before the gun jammed Sunday in the 24000 block of Quail Ridge Way, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Charles E. Crowley, 33, of Shanks, W.Va., was charged with attempted second degree murder and willfully discharging firearms in public places. He's being held without bond.
Around 3:30 p.m., Crowley fired a shot during a physical struggled with private security officers. He then pointed it at them. It jammed and didn't go off, though. Security detained him until police arrived. The only reported injuries were to Crowley, who was taken to a local hospital to be checked out before being taken to jail.
