Fetch! Pet Care Loudoun Begins Offering Pet Sitting, Dog Walking

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Fetch! Pet Care Loudoun is now offering pet sitting and dog walking services for pet owners in the Ashburn and Leesburg areas. Kristen Venetsanos, a longtime Loudoun County resident, launched Fetch! Pet Care Loudoun in August 2021.

Prior to establishing Fetch! Pet Care in Loudoun, Venetsanos was searching for an entrepreneurial opportunity. When she learned about Fetch! Pet Care and the opportunities available to her as a franchisee, she knew she'd found her match.

"Fetch! offers flexibility with the potential for financial success, which are important attributes of a new business venture," Venetsanos said. "Today, I love my work, and as the new business has begun to grow, I’m enjoying getting to know many neighbors in need of pet care services."

Venetsanos has two furry family members of her own, so she knows firsthand the importance of her work. Previously, Venetsanos has fostered animals from the Forever Home Rescue Foundation.

"As a lifelong pet owner, I clearly understand why people consider their animals to be a part of the family," Venetsanos said. "Personally, I expect the best care possible for my Chihuahua and Yorkie, and as such, our team provides clients with a level of service that ensures animals under our care are safe, exercised, fed and happy."

Though many small businesses have struggled to stay afloat during the pandemic, Venetsanos and Fetch! have been buoyed by the events of the past two years. Fetch! Pet Care said a "dog adoption boom" helped their business thrive throughout the pandemic.

A survey released by Quotient in Summer 2021 found that about one third of pet owners adopted an animal since the start of the pandemic. The survey found that 42 percent of Millennial pet owners added an animal to their family during this stressful time.

Fetch! Pet Care uses an app that allows customers to schedule services and interact with team members. The app also has GPS functionality so customers can see where there pets go on walks, and a journal where sitters upload photos, take notes, and provide any other notable information.

Fetch! Pet Care's Loudoun team plans to attend several community events in September, including the Greater DC Yoga Festival on Sept. 19 and the Paws in the Village event in Leesburg on Saturday, Sept. 25.
