LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A young fox had a bad day in Loudoun County when it got caught in a soccer net. A concerned resident called humane law enforcement to free the animal from the tangled net.

The fox was not harmed and was released into the wild.

"He was so knotted into the net that despite his attempts to twist and pull, he couldn't get free," Loudoun County Animal Services wrote on Facebook. "Thankfully, someone spotted him and gave us a call."

The responding humane law enforcement determined that freeing the fox would be a two-person job. One person would need to cut through the netting while another kept the fox still.

However, no other employees from Loudoun County Animal Services were available. A nearby Loudoun County Sheriff's Office deputy was able to help, authorities said.
