Free COVID Testing to Continue Through December In Loudoun County

The Loudoun County Health Department plans to continue hosting free COVID-19 testing events every Tuesday through the end of the year.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Free COVID-19 testing events will be held every Tuesday through the end of the year in Loudoun County, the health department announced on Monday. The health department reinstituted the weekly events earlier this fall after a surge in cases caused by the delta variant of COVID-19.

The events are held in a drive-through format, and are held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Tuesday.

Here are the dates and locations for each free COVID-19 testing event in Loudoun County through the end of the year:

The free testing events are open to any members of the public and there are no age or residency requirements. The tests are PCR nasal swabs, and no rapid tests will be offered, officials said.

"Public health officials encourage anyone, regardless of vaccination status, who thinks they may have been exposed to COVID-19 to get tested as well as anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue and a new loss of taste or smell," the county said in a news release. "In addition, anyone who traveled for the Thanksgiving holiday or plans to travel for the December holidays and gather with family and friends is also encouraged to get tested a few days before and after traveling or gathering in groups."
