LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Gunshots rang out in Ashburn on Thursday night. A pair of 21-year-olds from Leesburg have been arrested and charged, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said.

No injuries were reported in the shooting, according to authorities.

The sheriff's office identified the suspects as Gustavo Portillo Aguilar and Marlon Jose Herrera Gutierrez. Portillo Aguilar is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and public intoxication. Herrera Gutierrez was charged with public intoxication, shooting across a road or street, shooting from a vehicle, discharging a firearm in public, and reckless handling of a firearm.

If convicted of all charges, Portillo Aguilar could face up to a year in prison. Herrera Gutierrez could face up to 12 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.

Portillo Aguilar was held on a $2,000 secured bond, while Herrera Gutierrez was held without bond.

The shooting occurred around 10 p.m. on Thursday near Riverside Parkway and River Creek Parkway in Ashburn. Deputies responded to the scene and arrested the two men after an investigation.
