Hurricane Harvey Relief - How You Can Help

Crossroads UMC is providing ways you can help with the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

In the wake of the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, you may feel called to respond in some way. Please watch this video from Pastor Dave, outlining the ways Crossroads UMC is asking the community to respond.

Here are the ways Pastor Dave has suggested we respond as directed by the United Methodist Committee on Relief, UMCOR:

  • Prayer - Pray for all those affected directly or indirectly by hurricane/tropical storm Harvey. Also, pray for the first responders, disaster coordinators and many volunteers. Here is a prayer written by the Bishop of the Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Click here for the prayer.
  • Monetary donations are always needed - Please consider donating to UMCOR, United Methodist Committee on Relief. 100% of each gift reaches the Advance mission or ministry of your choice. Donations in response to Hurricane Harvey, can be made to UMCOR's U.S. Disaster relief fund (Advance #901670). Click hereto donate to UMCOR.
  • Make Relief Kits - Cleaning relief kits help provide care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis. Crossroads will be collecting Relief Kits over the next few weeks. A complete list of supplies for the kit along with instructions for packing the kit are shown below. Please ONLY INCLUDE items requested.

  • Volunteer - Once the damage has been assessed and teams are requested, we will be forming mission teams to serve in the areas affected.

It is Crossroads' mission to be the hands and feet of Jesus out in the world. Help us serve those in need in any way you can.
